Carl Van Vechten
Biography
Carl Van Vechten was born in Cedar Rapids, Â鶹¹ÙÍø, in 1880. He graduated from the University of Chicago in 1903, and after 1906 he worked in New York and Paris as a journalist and novelist. Between 1932 and his death in 1964 he devoted himself to portrait photography, and his photographs of literary and artistic personages are well known.
